TOURIST EXPERIENCE:

THE FLOOD AND THE DROUGHT

People always say that the best time of year to visit the communities of the Lower Amazon is the summer. Is that so? In fact, each season has its own beauty and characteristics.
The region is beautiful all year round. If you want the beach, yes, the Amazon summer, between September and February, is better. If you want to wander in the igapós’ flooded forest and its magic, the right time is the Amazon winter, between March and August. It’s always worth checking how the rains behave, as the waters can take more or less time to fill up or empty out.
Besides flooding the forests forming igapós, the clouds in winter draw incredible images in the beautiful blue sky, colored in many shades, from gray to black. Around here, the temperature is almost always around 30°C.
