This visit puts us in touch with the day-to-day life of fish farmers in floating nets, an activity introduced in the communities living along the Arapiuns River in order to increase their income and provide food and local fish for tourism throughout the year. An activity traditionally carried out by men and women - MUSES (the acronym for Dreamy Women in Action in Portuguese) - have been in charge of fish farming since 2000. In these communities, fish food is natural, made in a recently equipped factory with the support of BNDES and the Saúde e Alegria Project.
