TOURIST EXPERIENCE:

THE CARPENTRY SHOP

The carpentry shop located in the community of Vila Anã has the support of APRONA and APAA and was born from the dream of Dona Odila, an old resident that you will have the pleasure to meet. Just an evening of chatting while she slowly tastes the jaraquis’ heads (part of her favorite fish) is already worth the trip. She will tell you about her childhood in the community, her parents, her move to the big city and her return.
One day she spoke aloud about this dream and imagined the community's youth involved in an activity that, not only generated income, but also was fully adapted to the use of wood that falls in the forest and can produce not only handicrafts but also boxes for the management of bees of all communities. Her carpenter brother, who had been living far away for a long time, listened to her dream and joined in this endeavor.
More than handicrafts, boxes for bee keeping and furniture, what young people do is to keep busy while learning a profession, create bonds with the community and, little by little, with each saw, sandpaper and glue, become active and autonomous.
